MTB and road bikes

The upper Pesio and Tanaro valleys offer routes for everyone and every level of fitness, whether touring or on a mountain bike.

Useful suggestions for mountain bike or road bike tours in the Park and its surroundings can be found in the downloadable brochures Mountain Bike - Between Maritime and Ligurian Alps and Road Bike - Between Maritime and Ligurian Alps of the series Top20 between Maritime Alps and Langhe..
Particularly famous is the high-altitude salt route Alta Via del Sale , a splendid dirt road built by the military between Colle di Tenda and Monesi di Triora. We recommend taking this route on days when it is closed to motor vehicle traffic. Fitter cyclists may want to continue as far as the sea, maybe stopping at Rifugio Don Barbera.

Granfondo Marguareis Bike Valle Pesio

If the Granfondo Marguareis Bike were a colour it would definitely be green. The green of chestnut and beech woods and the majestic silver fir forests of the Pesio Valley which shade the path as it winds its way. of the Pesio Valley iin the shadow of which that the path winds its way. The green meadows of the clearing of Pian delle Gorre, of the pastures of the Carthusian Grangia of San Michele and the village of Baudinet, all places that will make you gasp in awe. Particularly unmissable, the descent to San Michele, where a stop is a must to enjoy a panorama 360°, ranging from the Bisalta to the Marguareis Massif to the peaks of Gardiola and Pigna before diving into the plain. The circuit is well signposted with "Marguareis Bike" posts and can be ridden all the way except for the very few fords that only samurai warriors can tackle in the saddle. Mainly on dirt roads, with fun traverses, exciting descents on single track and only two short sections of paved road.
All the details of the Granfondo route can be found on p.16 of the downloadable booklet Mountain Bike - Between Maritime and Ligurian Alps , together with many other mountain bike excursions. The brochure is part of the series **Top20 between Alpi Marittime and Langhe**.

  • Around the Bisalta

The itinerary unfolds entirely in front of the Bisalta, the mountain symbol of Cuneo. Its slopes served as a refuge for the partisans during the second world war, while the settlements that stretch at his feet, Boves, Peveragno and Chiusa di Pesio, were the theatre of fierce Nazi-Fascist retaliation. In a beautiful foothill environment, you take side roads, perfect for riding in peace, with short and easy climbs that alternate with downhill stretches over flattish ground. All the details of the route can be found on p.26 of the downloadable booklet Road bikes - Between Maritime and Ligurian Alps , together with many other road bike excursions in the surrounding area. The brochure is part of the series Top20 tra Alpi Marittime e Langhe.
